This cancer is aggressive. This cancer travels fast. Initially, we were told this cancer is rare. I'm here to tell you, once you become a part of "the group" it doesn't feel so rare. Which, for some, can lead you on your fight. A fight for these children.
Very understandably, you don't know what you don't know. And, I will say, I had no clue what this world of childhood cancer is really about. Being a "member" now for more than a year, I can tell you there are many different avenues of advocacy to stroll down. There's the awareness side, there's the political side, there's the get in there in the trenches and get your hands dirty kind, there's the research kind, and so on and so forth.
